On November 28, the modern Space for Children "Take Care of Me" was officially opened in Chernihiv to support children and their parents (guardians) affected by the war.
The opening ceremony was attended by:
- Anna Nikolenko-Baieva, Chairman of the NGO "Association for Democratic Development" and the team of the Space,
- Stefano Antici and Giulia Licata, representatives Terre des Hommes Italia in Ucraina,
- Larisa Shumna, Representation of the Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in the Chernihiv region;;
- Vasyl Bilogura, Head Department of Education of Chernihiv City Council;
- Yuriy Music, chief Department of Education and Science of Chernihiv Regional State Administration ;
- Alexander Mysyura, Director Chernihiv Regional Center for Scientific and Technical сreativity of Students
Stefano Antici and Giulia Licata, representatives of Terre des Hommes Italia in Ucraina, noted the importance of supporting children in times of crisis and praised the work of the Prostir team. We discussed what urgent challenges Ukrainian children and their parents face.
"Children and youth of Chernihiv need psychosocial support. We see this from the results of our work, parents also talk about it. That is why the events that take place in the Space "Take Care of Me" are aimed at psychological unloading and formation of stress resistance skills in children, "― noted the importance of psychological support for children in modern realities Iryna Kulyk, project protection coordinator.
"We work not only for children and adolescents from Chernihiv. Children from villages bordering the regional center also come to our classes. It's very valuable to us. We see that the request for psychological support, unloading measures is relevant and the number of people wishing to join our classes is only growing, "said Elena Antonenko, a psychologist at Prostir.
Space for children "Take care of me" is located in the building of the Chernihiv Regional Center for Scientific and Technical Creativity of Students.
Space Space is divided into several zones:
training - for group classes of children of different age categories on the development of emotional intelligence, psychosocial support and self-regulation skills,
consulting - for individual consultations of children and their parents (guardians), art therapy - for activities that help express emotions through creativity, administrative - a place for the work of the Space team.
All activities in the Space are free of charge for both children and adults.
