On November 6-7, the National Forum "From Lessons to Action: Implementation of the Agenda "Women, Peace, Security" in Ukraine" was held in Kyiv, which brought together representatives of the government, parliament, international partners and civil society. The main goal of the event – is to summarize the implementation of the current National Action Plan 1325 and develop recommendations for the new strategic stage for 2026–2030. The forum gathered more than 200 participants.
"We believe, and this is one of our values, that women themselves know better how to solve the challenges and the problems they face. And we believe that any policy will be effective only when it is implemented on the ground and if it works for those women who are in the regions, in small communities, in villages, in larger settlements, - noted Nataliya Karbovska, director of strategic development of the Ukrainian Women's Fund.
Chernihiv Oblast was represented at the forum by a delegation of the Chernihiv Oblast 1325 Coalition. According to the head of the secretariat, Anna Nikolenko-Bayeva, this event became a powerful platform for the exchange of experience and ideas on the implementation of resolution 1325 at the national and regional levels. "We continue to work, because resolution 1325 will be relevant for many years even after the end of the war", she said. In the sectional work of the forum, specific recommendations for the new National Plan were formulated:
strengthening funding for local initiatives;
mainstreaming gender mainstreaming in all recovery policies;
ensuring equal access to decisions in the field of security, peace and recovery. These developments will form the basis of the Forum Resolution, which will be submitted to the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine.
International partners highly appreciated Ukraine's proactivity in the implementation of UN Resolution 1325.

The forum was held at the initiative of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity, the Ukrainian Women's Fund, the Ukrainian Public Health Foundation and UN Women in Ukraine, with the financial support of the governments of the Netherlands, Canada, Croatia, Sweden and Great Britain.
