Fourteen civil society organizations (CSOs) from Chernihiv and Sumy regions will receive grants of up to $10,000

Fourteen civil society organizations (CSOs) from Chernihiv and Sumy regions will receive grants of up to $10,000 each from the international organization ZOA as part of a competition for initiative groups and CSOs.

The competition is supported in the regions in cooperation with the NGO "Association of Democratic Development" (Chernihiv region) and the NGO "League of Modern Women" (Sumy region).

Within the framework of the initiative, public organizations had the opportunity to submit project ideas aimed at meeting the basic needs of the affected and vulnerable population in the border areas.

Selected CSOs took part in a one-day training on project application and budget development, which became a key stage in preparation for the implementation of their initiatives.

From the beginning of the competition until the end of the projects, participants also receive individual facilitation support, including consultations on the preparation of applications, implementation of activities and reporting. Such support is provided by facilitators of partner organizations, who constantly accompany participants within the entire grant cycle.

"Such initiatives allow local organizations not only to support communities in wartime, but to become a driver of change. This is about the growth of local leadership —, because it is these organizations that independently identify problems, form solutions, plan and implement their own projects", — noted Olga Kuntysh, program manager of ZOA.

The project is implemented with the financing of the Humanitarian Fund for Ukraine (HFC/UHF).
