Children's spaces that work within the PROMESSA project: "Pearl" — in Novovodolazka, "Wings" — in Zlatopilska, "Zherelo" in Tomakivska communities, — is about barrier-free and inclusion. After all, we strive to create spaces of equal opportunities.

And we take care of the conditions so that the spaces can be visited and visited by children with disabilities. In addition, in the process of classes with children, space psychologists strive to debunk myths about inclusion and teach them the etiquette of communication and interaction.

It is about the basic rules:

  •  "Man first": Say "man with a disability" instead of "disabled person". First see the personality, and only then — its signs or diagnoses.
  • Respect for space: Wheelchair or white cane — is part of a person's personal space. Do not touch them without permission.
  • Ask before you help: Even if you think you need help, first ask politely, "Can I help you and how exactly?".
  • Communicate at eye level: When talking to a person in a wheelchair, sit next to you so that your eyes are at the same level.

Inclusion — is the process of involving all people in active public, educational and professional life. This is a rearrangement of the world so that everyone is comfortable in it. Equality is not sameness, equality is the value of each and everyone!

The project "PROMESSA: Protection of children, response to emergency situations and health care for the most vulnerable families affected by the conflict in the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions" is implemented by the NGO "Association for Democratic Development" in partnership with the foundation's branch "Тер дез Ом Італія ЕТС" в Україні (TDH Italy) Terre des Hommes Italia in Ucraina.
