Today, on June 19, the information campaign for the International Day against Sexual Violence during the Conflict starts. The campaign was initiated within the framework of Ukraine's presidency of the Global Alliance for the Prevention of Sexual Violence in Time of War (hereinafter - SNPK).
The goal is to draw the world's attention to the issues of sexual violence in the context of wars and conflicts, strengthen international support for victims and intensify global efforts to achieve justice.
On this day, Allies, as well as individual states and non-governmental organizations, state and local authorities in Ukraine and beyond, speak out with a single voice against the SNPK and the importance of achieving justice for victims, providing comprehensive support and involving victims in decision-making processes.
"This is not just an information campaign, but a global voice in support of survivors of sexual violence during wars and conflicts around the world. It is part of the Alliance's collective effort to restore justice and provide assistance to those most in need. Our goal is to strengthen international efforts to prevent the silence of crimes, to hear and take into account the voice of victims. Such crimes very often remain "quiet" - and this is what the Russian Federation seeks. That is why advocacy should be systemic, "said Olga Stefanishina, Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Minister of Justice of Ukraine.
One of the key elements of the campaign is the rapeseed flower - a sign of solidarity with the victims of SNPK. This symbol was first introduced in Ukraine in 2023 at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on combating sexual violence related to the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Rapeseed flower is able to germinate even in the most difficult conditions, which personifies the strength of a person who has survived violence and his ability to recover. Within the framework of the campaign, Ukraine calls on partners to use this symbol in their communications as a manifestation of solidarity with those whose experience should not be forgotten.

On June 19, the world celebrates the International Day against Sexual Violence in Conflict (SNPC). The date was chosen in honor of the adoption of the resolution Ради Безпеки ООН 1820, which recognizes the SNPC as a threat to international peace and security.
Global Alliance to Prevent Sexual Violence in War (Альянс PSVI) — is an international initiative launched by the Government of Great Britainї — is an international initiative launched by the UK Government in 2022 to prevent and counter sexual violence in armed conflict zones. The Alliance is an important forum for strengthening global efforts in this direction, sharing experiences and supporting victim-centred actions. Currently, the Alliance consists of 29 members: states and non-governmental organizations.
In 2025 in the Alliance вперше головує Україна. Key priorities for this year include reviewing and improving the founding documents, strengthening commitments to establish comprehensive reparations programmes for those affected, and researching best practices among Allies to develop a practical guide containing effective measures to prevent, respond to and support violence.
