NGO "Association of Democratic Development", being a local partner of ZOA Ukraine, belongs to those humanitarian organizations of Ukraine that implement Group Cash Transfers (GCT).
Nataliya Apanasko, a representative of our team, joined the Group Money Transfers (GCT) and Community-Led Initiatives workshop held in Kyiv. The event brought together public activists from various organizations and became an important space for professional exchange of experience, knowledge and practical developments.
During the workshop, the participants had the opportunity to share the best practices, challenges and opportunities opened by GCT and community-led initiatives in Ukrainian realities.
"Each of the international organizations and their local partners has its own experience and its own Group Cash Transfer (GCT) implementation model. At the same time, our experience of providing grants to public organizations and initiative groups turned out to be interesting and unique at the all-Ukrainian level. After all, we were able to achieve the most effective use of funds for the implementation of the proposed projects in communities", Nataliya Apanasko said. International organizations were interested in our experience.
In addition, representatives of donors and embassies joined the discussion, which proved that the topic of GCT in Ukraine is not only developing among public organizations, but also has wider interest and support.
We are grateful to the organizers for creating this important space for sharing experiences. We sincerely appreciate our cooperation with ZOA Ukraine and are convinced that the acquired knowledge and experience will be used in joint further work on the development of GCT in Ukraine, advocacy of system challenges and search for practical solutions to strengthen the local humanitarian response.
The workshop was organized by Alliance UA CSO and the Red Cross of Ukraine in cooperation with Dan Church Aid and Norwegian Church Aid in Ukraine, JERU - Joint Emergency Response in Ukraine, ZOA and Cash Working Group of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs/OCHA Ukraine.
