Italy continues to support Ukrainian children.
Italian partners visited the "Zherelo" space, which operates in the Tomakiv community of the Dnipropetrovsk region within the PROMESSA project, with a monitoring visit.
Dnipropetrovsk region, as a front-line region, suffers from systematic shelling, because of this, adults and children live in constant stress and anxiety in local communities. Therefore, the activity of the center for children and their parents (guardians) is extremely important. Since the beginning of its activity, the "Zherelo" space has almost 400 unique visitors, a total of more than 1,400 visits by children, 32 families receive individual comprehensive assistance (case management).
The representative of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the head of the branch of the Ter des Om Italy ETS Foundation in Ukraine, Stefano Antiki, the project manager of this organization, visited Andrea Ferro the children's space, which is equipped with everything necessary for psychosocial assistance to children and their parents (guardians). Natalia Kuziv, as well as the head of the partner organization - a separate division of the VIS - ETC foundation in Ukraine, Ulyana Bezpalyuk.
The guests got acquainted with the activities of the space and its team. And they also had the opportunity to communicate with children and parents who attend classes in the space. In the Tomakiv community, the children's space "Zherelo" has become a place of safety and comfort, warm meetings, psycho-emotional and psychosocial support for local residents and IDPs.
"During war, children are particularly vulnerable and need support. So, the help of Italian friends and partners is incredibly valuable for us. Thanks to their efforts, children in three communities in Kharkiv Oblast and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast feel more protected, Iryna Kulyk, coordinator of the PROMESSA project, emphasized Iryna Kulyk.
Representatives of local self-government, as well as parents, expressed their gratitude for the creation and operation of the "Zherelo" children's space in the Tomakiv community.
The project "PROMESSA: Protection of children, response to emergency situations and health care for the most vulnerable families affected by the conflict in the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions" is implemented by the NGO "Association of Democratic Development" in partnership with the branch of the "Ter des Om Italy ETS" foundation in Ukraine (TDH Italy) Terre des Hommes Italia in Ucraina. The project is financed by Italian Cooperation. And it is implemented with the aim of strengthening mental health and improving the social adaptation of children and their families who suffered from the war in the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
