"Resolution 1325 "Women, peace, security": regional aspects and prospects of its implementation" - the meeting of the "round table" with that name was held in Chernihiv.


"Resolution   "Women, peace, security": regional aspects and prospects of its implementation" - the meeting of the "round table" with this name took place in Chernihiv. It was organized by the Department of Family, Youth and Sports of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration in cooperation with the secretariat of the Chernihiv Region 1325 Coalition as part of the "1325 strengthens the country" information campaign in the region.

  Participants - representatives of the authorities and the public — discussed a wide range of issues:

   prospects for the development and implementation of the regional action plan;

   conducting the information campaign "1325 strengthens the country" in the region, tasks and plans of the Coalition "Chernihiv region 1325";

   veteran policy and resolution 1325.Special attention was paid to the experience of the communities of Chernihiv Oblast regarding the implementation of the UN Security Council resolution "Women, Peace, Security". Representatives of Kiptivska, Osterska, Ivanivska and other communities shared their work and vision of this work. 

   Director of the department Andriy Shemets emphasized that the regional action plan — is a tool that turns international resolution and national policy into concrete actions on the ground, ensuring that the voice and needs of people are heard and taken into account in all processes related to peace and security in the region. The regional action plan is successfully implemented by the Chernihiv Oblast 1325 Coalition, which currently unites 35 institutions and organizations. 

   The head of the secretariat of the Coalition, the head of the NGO "Association for Democratic Development" Anna Nikolenko-Bayeva emphasized that one of the achievements of the Chernihiv Oblast 1325 coalition is the establishment of close cooperation between public organizations and local authorities, and as a result, the development and successful implementation of coalition projects aimed at the implementation tasks and measures of the regional action plan 1325."I want to hope that our activities will continue to be effective and meet the needs of communities. Let's move together and achieve the set tasks and goals, so that women are really involved in decision-making processes at various levels, fully participate in the processes of achieving peace, restoring their cities and villages", said Anna Nikolenko-Bayeva. 

   The event is organized as part of the information campaign "1325 strengthens the country", implemented by the Ukrainian Women's Fund with the support of the governments of Great Britain, the Netherlands and Canada, and with the assistance of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy.
