Today, a round table was held on the topic "Sexual violence as a weapon of war: the situation in the Chernihiv region" for the Chernihiv region.
The event was joined by journalists, representatives and representatives of territorial communities of the Chernihiv region, including institutions of social protection of the population, the Chernihiv regional prosecutor's office, the Chernihiv local center for the provision of free secondary legal aid, spaces and hubs for women and girls, as well as public organizations.
This roundtable and project "Sexual violence as a weapon of war: prevent and support. Updating the system of assistance to victims of SNPK in the information space of Chernihiv region" was created to increase the level of awareness of residents and residents of the Chernihiv region, to reduce prejudice among the population regarding the topic of SNPK.
The problem of identifying cases of sexual violence related to military conflict has become an important topic for discussion. Participants shared their experiences and views on how to provide effective information, mechanisms for identifying and supporting individuals affected by CIPS.
NGO "Association for Democratic Development" presented to the audience an information and methodological brochure entitled "Sexual violence as a weapon of war: strategies for prevention and support." In addition, the organization's team presented the results of media monitoring. It covers the coverage of sexual violence related to the conflict in the media of Chernihiv region.
