Sexual violence, connected with war: providing comprehensive assistance to victims

Sexual violence, повʼязане with war: providing comprehensive assistance to victims "- two such trainings for different groups took place in Chernihiv. 

The purpose of these educational activities was to acquire skills in identifying various forms of sexual violence, related with war/conflict (SNPC), its proper documentation, in accordance with international standards and national legislation. And also - the development of a mechanism of interaction for the provision of comprehensive assistance from the SNPK, in particular, the protection of the rights of victims, the provision of legal, social, medical, psychological support, understanding of the consequences of the SNPK for the affected person and the features of building communications and interaction with her.

Special attention is paid to the international regulation of SNPK. Participants learned what the International Protocol on the Documentation and Investigation of War-Related Sexual Violence is, as well as the experience of other countries in organizing comprehensive support for victims, in particular Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 The training took place within the project "Let's stand together. Improving the support system for victims of war-related sexual violence/SNPK, "fulfilling Український Жіночий Фонд / Ukrainian Women's Fund with public organization «Ла Страда – Україна», Асоціацією жінок-юристок України «ЮрФем» Human rights defender YurFem supported by the Office of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and the Office of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy and funded by the European Union.
