Kulikiv community — is one of the communities of Chernihiv region that experienced difficult times during the full-scale invasion. Today, residents of the community suffer not only from the consequences of the events of February-March 2022, but also from constant shelling and air alarms. The issue of mental health is extremely relevant here. People need space for safe communication, restoration of internal balance and professional support to better cope with the consequences of stress and uncertainty.

Individual consultations with psychologists most often concern:

   reducing anxiety and stress levels,

development of self-regulation skills and restoration of internal resources,

   improving emotional state,

support in solving difficult life situations.

"People turn to our psychologists with various — requests from anxiety and stress to relationship difficulties or exhaustion at work. Often they want to learn how to manage their emotions, find internal resources, restore strength. The team of psychologists uses various approaches, including artistic techniques that help to calm down, feel harmony and take care of yourself. It is important that communities have the opportunity to receive professional help. This gives people the feeling that they are not alone with their experiences and can find support", said Olena Antonenko, project coordinator.

The provision of such individual counselling helps people to obtain quality psychological care and helps to form more sustainable and cohesive communities.

NGO "Association of Democratic Development" provides psychosocial support to vulnerable population groups in Chernihiv region in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration(IOM Ukraine) but with the financing of the Government of Germany Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) through the German Development Bank KfW.
