Mena is preparing for a security audit
The founding meeting of the working group on security audits was held in the Minsk Territorial Community. The event was the first step in the implementation of the project "Detection, prevention and response to security challenges in territorial communities of Chernihiv region", which is implemented by the NGO "Association of Democratic Development" and which is a component of the "Impulse" project, which is implemented by the International Renaissance Foundation and the IBO "Eastern Europe Foundation".
Already at the first meeting, the working group faced the growing security challenges in the conditions of war. Due to the ongoing air alert, the meeting was held in a shelter.
Members of the working group - representatives of local authorities, the police, the State Emergency Service, local activists, and the project team discussed the plan for its implementation, and also determined the stages of conducting a security audit in Maine. Yuriy Stalnichenko, secretary of the Minsk City Council, joined the first meeting of the working group.
He emphasized the importance of cooperation with the public and openness of the local community. Among the important components of the project is the involvement of local residents in order to take their opinion into account as much as possible. The conducted audit will identify security vulnerabilities in the community, assess risks and develop recommendations - an action plan so that local residents, including women and girls, feel more protected. The action plan will be approved by the city council. In the future, local self-government will be able to use this document to plan its activities and attract funding for the implementation of security measures.
