Round table meeting on "Let's stand together! Improvement of the system of support for victims of sexual violence associated with the war "in the development of a system of response and assistance to victims of SNPK" took place in Chernihiv.

"Contribution of the project" Let's stand together! Improving the system of support for victims of sexual violence related to the war "in the development of a system of response and assistance to victims of SNPK at the national and regional levels" for the Chernihiv region and Kyiv "- a round table on this topic was held in Chernihiv. The format of the event combined offline and online communication, which allowed attracting speakers from different regions. Government Commissioner for Gender Issues Kateryna Levchenko held the meeting. 

And its participants and participants were representatives of local stakeholders of the project. - local authorities, specialized departments and units involved in the system of assistance to victims of SNPK, including those who have been trained on the subject of SNPK in the framework of the project, the leadership of local communities, members of regional Coalitions 1325, training on SNPK, project grants, partner NGOs, media, other interested persons from the Chernihiv region and Kyiv, UWF experts, La Strada, YurFem, others.

Speaking about the implementation of the project in the Chernihiv region, the head of the Association for Democratic Development, Anna Nikolenko-Baeva, emphasized that at the regional level it is very important to implement projects aimed at preventing, responding and countering SNPK. It is also about changing the attitude in society to the topic of SNPK, reducing stigma, improving awareness of community residents about SNPK and helping victims at the local level.

Anna Nikolenko-Baeva also shared her experience in implementing the project "Sexual Violence as a Weapon of War: Prevent and Support. Updating the system of assistance to victims of SNPK in the information space of Chernihiv region, "which was implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Women's Fund. 

"The project contributed to the creation of an effective system for responding to cases of conflict-related violence in the Chernihiv region," she concluded.
