I have already lived so much in this village. They built a house for themselves here, and put a lot of effort into it. I remember going all over the Soviet Union with potatoes. And they went to Russia. Money was needed for construction. And then — once and that's it.
I can remember it [the fighting] with horror. No one could have predicted what would happen. Explosions are there, then there. We heard that war was coming. They hid in the basement.
When it started, my children came to pick us up and go with us somewhere in Western Ukraine. Well, of course, we said that we would not go anywhere. It's a pity to leave your farm. And in general, it was a pity for everything acquired. Then the daughter said that they will not leave you.
We lived the way we did before. The son-in-law made the basement capital. Made two improvised beds. The paralons were placed there, and then all the clothes were protruded there.
They escaped from the cold, our son-in-law heated our bottles. We are going there, and he is already following us. We lie down, he puts these bottles here and there. I say: "Vovochka, I'm already suffocating, it's hot for me". He says, "Don't be crazy, mom, don't be crazy". But thanks to our children, we survived. I was afraid terribly. The first one herself ran to the basement. They ask: "Where is the mother?" I'm already there. It's like I'm wearing it there.
We have heard explosions since February. It was very scary. When the sounds approached, we hid in the cellar. So that I would not be afraid, my son-in-law reassured me, said: "Then, our mother, do not worry". And on March 13 [2022] there was the first shelling of the village.
My husband and son-in-law and I were in the yard at that time. A fire started not far from us. The husband and son-in-law rushed to stew, ran to help. And I wanted to close the chickens, my daughter was at home. It started to mature. I fell near the chickens, and it saved my life. The yard was shelled with cluster shells. Everything that was in the yard became in the holes. I fell, these bombs fell around me ‒ blew up the ground, the ground hit me. 14 chickens killed near me. Everything quieted down for a while. The daughter ran, helped her get up and reach the basement. I couldn't go at all. She was pulling me.
A new shelling began. Son-in-law returned from the fire. Someone was riding a bicycle and said to my husband: "You are stewing here, and you are burning there yourself". Thanks to the neighbor who came to help, the son-in-law, and because we had a lot of water in tubs and cans, we managed to put out the fire under fire.
These events, of course, were a terrible nightmare. And every day we lived in fear that we would be fired upon again. It cannot be transferred.
