"It all started eight years ago because of the son's low hemoglobin," says Valentina Tapekha from Novgorod-Seversky. "Knowing the beneficial properties of quail eggs, I decided to try to breed these birds."
Today, Valentina's farm has three breeds of quails: golden phoenix, Texas albino and pharaoh. Thanks to the support from ZOA and funding from the Humanitarian Fund for Ukraine (UHF), the woman was able to significantly expand her household.
"With the new incubator for 600 eggs and additional equipment, the number of quails has increased from 50 to 150," Valentyna shares her successes. "Now we get about 1,500 eggs a month, and this is just the beginning!"
For the Tapeh family, poultry farming has become a real passion. In addition to quails, they successfully keep 75 chickens and 5 roosters.

This story is a great example of how caring for a child's health can grow into a promising family business with the support of UHF, ZOA and Association for democratic development/Асоціація демократичного розвитку.
