A meeting of the Coalition "Chernihivshchyna 1325" was held in Chernihiv

   A meeting of the Coalition "Chernihivshchyna 1325" was held in Chernihiv.

  During 2025, the final monitoring report of Regional Action Plan 1325 (OPD 2325) was presented by Ruslana Nagorna, head of the Family and Gender Policy Department of the Department of Family, Youth and Sports of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration. Last year, 49 activities were carried out within the framework of the implementation of OPD 1325 (86% of the planned).

  Ms. Ruslana noted that despite the difficulties, Regional Action Plan 1325 is being implemented. However, the quality of work is influenced not only by security factors, financial deficit and energy instability, but also by personnel problems, lack of qualified specialists in communities, difficulties with logistics. Meanwhile, the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution "Women, Peace, Security" is relevant not only for cities, but also for small communities.

  As Iryna Kulyk, a consultant on monitoring the implementation of OPD 1325 and analyzing the influence of the Coalition on the implementation of the plan in 2025, said, state authorities and public organizations united in the Coalition "Chernihivshchyna 1325" worked on the implementation of the document. Actually, the Coalition plays a leading role in the implementation of the tasks of OPD 1325, its participants managed to attract UAH 29 million in 2024-2025.

Among the results of the implementation of OPD 1325 last year:

  implementation of coalition projects between women's NGOs, authorities and the security and defense sector;

  strengthening the understanding of the regional authorities of the importance of localization of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 "Women. Peace. Security";

  availability of developed local Action Plans 1325 in some territorial communities of Chernihiv region (Ivanivska and Ladynska TG);

  drawing attention to the needs of categories of the population such as veterans/veteran women and their families, women with HIV, rural women affected by SNPC and others;

  expansion of areas of support relevant to the population of Chernihiv region regarding information security, countering mobbing and cyberbullying, responding to security challenges, etc.

  The participants of the meeting also discussed the expansion of the measures of the new Regional Action Plan 1325, work on which is currently underway.

  The "Chernihiv Oblast 1325" coalition was formed in the summer of 2023 with the aim of consolidating joint actions on the localization of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 "Women, Peace, Security" and the National Action Plan for its implementation in the Chernihiv region with the support of the Ukrainian Women's Fund and the assistance of the Office of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy in the region. Today, 35 organizations and institutions belong to the Coalition in the region. The activities of the Coalition have the support of the Government of Great Britain, provided through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth of Nations Affairs and Development of the United Kingdom within the framework of the Women project. Peace. Security: acting together", which is implemented by the Ukrainian Women's Fund.
