As part of psychosocial support, children and their families can receive case management services in children's spaces that work within the PROMESSA project: "Pearl" — in Novovodolazka, "Kryla" — in Zlatopilska, "Zherelo" in Tomakivska communities. The service is provided to children who have experienced traumatic events or are in the group of medium-high risk of violence, abuse or traumatic events, or who have received serious injuries as a result of the conflict, as well as children from particularly vulnerable families that are experiencing serious economic difficulties.

First of all, it is about IDPs, families of veterans; families experiencing loss; children with disabilities; children who have experienced violence, etc. According to space psychologists, the main request is the socio-psychological support of children who suffered from the consequences of the war, experience emotional tension, anxiety, loss of concentration and attention, and need stable support.

Case management in children's spaces is:

  • Individual approach. Each such case (case) is carefully studied and the help that is needed is provided.
  • Teamwork. All team members are involved in the work, which allows for comprehensive and high-quality support for each child and family, taking into account their needs.
  • Escort monitoring. An individual action plan is drawn up, and its implementation is analyzed - how do changes occur? Whether the involvement of additional specialists or referral to other structures or organizations is necessary?

The task of case management is to return the family's ability to solve its problematic issues independently, but in difficult circumstances to support and help.

Joint efforts and a comprehensive approach allow not only to support the child, but also to strengthen the resource of the family in general, improve mutual understanding between parents and children, create a safe space for development, emotional recovery and socialization.

The project "PROMESSA: Child protection, emergency response and health care for the most vulnerable families affected by the conflict in the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions" is implemented by the NGO "Association for Democratic Development" in partnership with the branch of the foundation "Ter des Om Italy ETS" in Ukraine (TDH Italy) Terre des Hommes Italia in Ucraina. The project is financed by Italian Cooperation. And it is implemented with the aim of strengthening mental health and improving the social adaptation of children and their families who suffered from the war in the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
