At the invitation of the Embassy of the Italian Republic in Ukraine, the head of the NGO "Association for Democratic Development" Anna Nikolenko-Bayeva and her deputy Iryna Kulyk attended the celebrations on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Italian Republic.
We had the opportunity to show our respect to our Italian partners - a branch of the Ter des Om Italy ETS fund in Ukraine (TDH Italy) Terre des Hommes Italia in Ucraina and personally to the director Stefano Antichi (Stefano Antichi) and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo - AICS Kiev thanks to whose support, three children's spaces operate in the communities of Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions, where psychosocial support is provided.
On June 2, Italy celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic. The day is a major public holiday commemorating the historic referendum of 1946, when the people of Italy chose a republican form of government and renounced the monarchy after World War II. This was the first election where Italian women were able to fully exercise the right to vote.
The event in the capital gathered several hundred guests - representatives of political, diplomatic and business circles, public figures, artists and athletes.
In addition, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Italian Republic, the legendary Independence Monument on Maidan Square in Kyiv was illuminated for the first time in history in honor of a foreign country - it shone with an Italian tricolor. "As a unique sign of honor, but above all of the deep commonality of the values of Italy and Ukraine", commented the Italian Ambassador to Ukraine Carlo Formosa.
