From theory to action. New knowledge and practical tools of activity were obtained by the participants of the training on the methodology of conducting an audit of the security of the territory in the Minsk urban territorial community. Members of the multidisciplinary working group —, representatives of local authorities and the public, the police, and the State Emergency Service joined the training. The event was held within the framework of the project "Detection, prevention and response to security challenges in territorial communities of Chernihiv region", which is implemented by the NGO "Association of Democratic Development" and which is a component of the "Impulse" project, implemented by the International Renaissance Foundation and the IBO "Eastern Europe Foundation".
During the training, the concept of security audit, its role in the community, wartime security challenges, principles of inclusiveness and gender sensitivity were considered in detail. Particular attention was paid to preparation for the audit, identification of objects, analysis of cartographic materials, appeals of residents and data of the police/DSNS.
While working out potential security audit routes, the participants of the training analyzed:
public space in the settlement;
approach to shelters;
safety stations transport;
lighting,
availability, navigation, risks for women, children, older people and persons with disabilities.

In addition, during the training, participants discussed decision-making algorithms, mechanisms for communicating results to authorities, public engagement in conducting safety audits, and monitoring the implementation of recommendations..
