Human rights inspectors in the Chernihiv region have raised their awareness of gender-based violence.
Training for them at the request of the representative of the Department of the main inspection and observance of human rights with deployment in the Chernihiv region Larisa Borisenko organized in Chernihiv by the public organization "Association for Democratic Development" (Chernihiv) together with the "Information and Consulting Women's Center" (Kyiv).
As the head of the NGO "Association for Democratic Development" Anna Nikolenko-Baieva emphasized, the event became one of the examples of cooperation between organizations and institutions belonging to the coalition "Chernihiv 1325".
During the event, gender-based violence was discussed within the agenda of "Women. Peace. Safety. " The main emphasis was placed on the identification, response and prevention of gender-based violence, since, unfortunately, there are no fewer such cases in war conditions..
Anastasia Nenka, the head of the ICRC, shared her knowledge and experience of social activism to counter gender-based violence. Democratic Development Association provided organizational issues.
The training is one of the steps to implement the regional action plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 "Women. Peace. Safety ".
