Italian Cooperation Day in Ukraine was visited in the capital by Anna Nikolenko-Bayeva and Iryna Kulyk as representatives of a public organization cooperating with the branch of the "TERRE DES HOMMES ITALIA ONLUS" IN UKRAINE (TDH Italy) foundation. NGO "Association of Democratic Development" is a partner of TDH Italy and implements projects to create safe spaces for children and provide psychosocial support to children and their parents (guardians).
This event noted Italy's role in reconstruction and providing humanitarian support to Ukraine. And its participants were more than 200 representatives of Ukrainian government institutions, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, the diplomatic corps and local partners.
"Thanks to Stefano Antichi for the invitation to this event and the opportunity to present our organization as a local partner of TDH Italy", Anna Nikolenko-Bayeva emphasized.
Italy supports Ukraine and Ukrainians — in the medical and educational spheres, areas of psychosocial assistance and demining measures for the benefit of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian citizens affected by the conflict.
In addition, during the Italian Cooperation Day in Ukraine, an agreement was signed on the reconstruction of the Odesa Children's Hospital, which was witnessed by the Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine Carlo Formosa and the Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba. The implementation of this project involves the construction of a new modern pediatric complex with 260 additional beds, which will provide medical assistance to children of the Odesa region and make the hospital a leading center for the south of Ukraine.
"Even in the darkest moments, we focus our attention on children, life, the future. Italy will continue to support Ukraine today and as much as necessary —, including through such specific manifestations of solidarity and hope", the Italian Ambassador to Ukraine emphasized during his speech.
As part of the cooperation of the NGO "Association of Democratic Development" with the branch of the "Terre des hommes Italy Onlus" foundation in Ukraine, with the support of AICS, spaces for children were opened in Chernihiv and in the Novodolaz community of the Kharkiv region. We are sincerely grateful for the cooperation, support of our activities and implementation of joint projects that are so necessary for Ukrainian communities.
