Overcoming the consequences of the ongoing war, access to clean drinking water and quality health services in rural areas. Such challenges are the most important for residents and residents of the Novobilouska community. This was discussed during a strategic session held within the framework of the project "Detection, prevention and response to security challenges in territorial communities of the Chernihiv region."
The Novobilouska community is located near the regional center and encompasses 22 settlements over a significant area. In 2022, it was occupied by Russian forces. Currently, active local citizens and authorities are thoroughly analyzing the security challenges faced by women and girls in the community. This analysis is part of the project "Identifying, Preventing, and Responding to Security Challenges in Territorial Communities of the Chernihiv Region."
Local residents believe that it is extremely important to have strategic documents on emergency response, as well as to improve awareness of gender-based violence, bullying, mobbing, etc. In addition, among the priorities of the community, according to local residents, should be the development of security infrastructure in rural areas, first of all, fire brigades and high-quality police work.
Working groups have been created in three territorial communities of Chernihiv region - Ivanovo, Novobilouska and Kyiv, which have begun to develop relevant Action Plans to identify, respond to and prevent security challenges, taking into account the gender and inclusive needs of women and girls. This process is open and public.
In addition, for residents of hromadas, events will be organized focused on the formation of skills to respond specifically to those security challenges that will be identified during the development of relevant Action Plans for each hromada.
The project "Detection, Prevention and Response to Security Challenges in Territorial Communities of Chernihiv Region" is implemented by the NGO "Association for Democratic Development" within the framework of the project "Women, Peace, Security: Acting Together," implemented by the Ukrainian Women's Fund with the support of the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
