Hanna Shcherbakova and Iryna Krumkach are residents of the border community of Horodnya in Chernihiv Oblast. This territory, bordering the two aggressors Russia and Belarus, is constantly under enemy fire, and therefore destruction, fires, explosions have become a harsh and dangerous reality for the residents of the community.

As Ms. Hanna and Iryna say, one of the enemy "arrivals" demonstrated that local residents desperately need additional knowledge and skills to provide first aid.

That is why their NGO "EHarmony" created the "Pharmacy+" project, which was supported by an international organization ZOA in Ukraine in partnership with the NGO "Association for Democratic Development".
The project envisages training on pre-medical care and mine safety in the Horodnya community on the basis of the central library for those who are most involved in working with people - educators, social workers and cultural specialists. 75 local residents will have better knowledge and skills in practical actions in emergency situations, as well as handling explosive objects. After all, at the trainings, they practice actions on how to stop bleeding and correctly apply a turnstile, what to do when breathing stops, etc. In addition, participants will receive first-aid kits with everything necessary for a correct response in critical situations.
"Our project is not learning for learning. This is a clear practice of skills and abilities that are needed in everyday life in border settlements. These are things that save lives", Hanna Shcherbakova emphasizes.
Each acquired skill – is another step towards security and confidence in one's own actions. After all, today knowledge is becoming a reliable tool for protection, and especially – knowledge of pre-medical care.

The "Pharmacy +" project is implemented by the NGO "EHarmony" with the support of the international humanitarian organization ZOA and the NGO "Association of Democratic Development", with the financing of the Humanitarian Fund for Ukraine (UHF)
