These days, representatives of ZOA in Ukraine, headed by the country director Christoph Ernesti, visited two families in the Chernihiv region - Mr. Andrei Shcherbaty and the Khodakov couple.
Andrei Shcherbaty, whose house was completely destroyed during the air strike, received a microgrant from ZOA to develop his own business, as well as support for farming - high-quality seeds and garden tools. This allowed him not only to provide for the family, but also to begin the reconstruction of housing.
The Khodak family, who lost their home due to shelling, received assistance to install windows, doors, heating systems, as well as support in the agricultural sector. Despite his venerable age, Mr. Oleksandr performed most of the construction work on his own.
These initiatives were made possible by funding from UHF (Ukraine Humanitarian Fund) and partnership with Association for democratic development/Асоціація демократичного розвитку.
