Support for residents of Novgorod-Sivershchyna.
More than 900 residents of the Novgorod-Siversk community have already received 10,800 hryvnias in monetary aid each thanks to the joint initiative of the NGO "Association for Democratic Development" and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Norwegian Refugee Council in Ukraineі with the financial support of Norway.
The project "Supporting the vulnerable population living in the border settlements of the Chernihiv region" is actively implemented within 3 months. Its main goal is — to meet the needs of vulnerable categories of the population that suffered from the consequences of the war and live in the settlements of Novgorod-Siversk TG and other communities of Novgorod-Siversk district.
As part of the initiative, once every 6 months, people from among the vulnerable categories have the opportunity to receive financial assistance. Cash payments in the amount of 10,800 hryvnias, which should solve the humanitarian problems of the civilian population.
"We understand how difficult it is now for every resident of the Novgorod-Siversk border community. Our project was created to support those residents who are currently in the most vulnerable situation and face a high level of danger, displacement, interruptions in access to services and economic burden. For aid to be fair, the programme defines clear criteria and selection is carried out using a scoring matrix. Our goal — is to help those who cannot cope with the challenges of war on their own", emphasizes project manager Iryna Kulyk. Households that received priority 1 assistance for response in front-line territories (UCT1) from other organizations in the previous six months, cannot participate in this program.
