Today, the photo exhibition "The Face of Resilience" opened in Chernihiv, dedicated to the indomitability of Ukrainian women during the war, and organized by the "Chernihiv Region 1325" Coalition. The guests of the opening of the exhibition were the deputy head of the Regional State Administration Ivan Vashchenko and the director of the Department of Family, Youth and Sports of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration Andriy Shemets.
Anna Nikolenko-Bayeva, head of the secretariat of the Chernihiv Oblast 1325 Coalition, emphasized that economic stability is one of the factors of security."Today, women in communities are becoming drivers of economic development. Many of them lost their jobs, their homes or their businesses due to the war. However, they find strength and start their own business anew, create jobs and master new professions", she emphasizedThe face of resilience" – is 13 portraits of Chernihiv volunteers, entrepreneurs, heads of communities, IDPs, who, despite the trials, continue their activities. Before the start of photography, each of the participants wrote their most terrible experiences during the war on a piece of paper. And portraits of women are made against the background of everything they had to go through; what they went through and persevered through! The author of the photos is Chernihiv photographer Yaroslav Rozmaritsyn, the author of the shooting idea is Tetyana Tereshchenko.
The images of women complement their stories about the individual experience of war living. These are stories about life from a new sheet, changes that Maryna Novyk from Semenivka and Victoria Khomik from Berdyansk had to go through. This is a selfless public and volunteer activity, which is carried out by Olga Kuntysh, Tetyana Korma; it is the rescue of animals, which Tetyana Didenko cares about. These are the indomitable heads of communities Ivanivska — Olena Shvydka and Tupychivska — Larisa Shovkova, who survived the occupation. This is Iryna Dubyk from Kipty, who, together with the team, took care of the displaced people in the first weeks of the war, providing people with everything they needed, and baked bread for the military and civilians. These are local businessmen who helped the people of Chernihiv during the siege of the city, carried out evacuations, had economic losses, but resumed their business, such as Darʼya Starykova, Nataliya Kokhan, Kateryna Molko, Nataliya Kalinichenko. Like Maryna Kuzmenko, who served in Mariupol, and then waited for her husband from captivity and helped realize his dream by opening a car workshop.
The purpose of the photo exhibition – is to emphasize the role and importance of women during the war. The next two weeks, the photo exhibition will be exhibited in the city library named after Kotsyubynskyi.
The photo exhibition is organized as part of the information campaign "1325 strengthens the country", which is implemented together with the Ukrainian Women's Fund Український Жіночий Фонд / Ukrainian Women's Fund with the support of the governments of Great Britain, the Netherlands and Canada, and with the assistance of the Government Commissioner for Gender Issues Kateryna Levchenko.
