What advantages will a security audit provide to residents of the Kulikiv community?

In the Kulikivska and Minsk communities, security audits are being developed within the framework of the project "Detection, prevention and response to security challenges in territorial communities of the Chernihiv region". This project is implemented by the NGO "Association of Democratic Development", and it is a component of the "Impulse" project, which is implemented by the International Renaissance Foundation and the IBO "Eastern Europe Foundation".

Both communities have common security challenges related to shelling, location in the border area, mine danger, and at the same time have unique features. For example, the Kulikiv community became an evacuation hub during the offensive of Russian troops on Chernihiv and sheltered a significant number of IDPs.

For the Kulikiv community, as well as the Minsk community, participation in the project allows a comprehensive assessment of the security situation in the community. "In the process of work, we not only identified problem areas and infrastructure barriers, but also heard the needs of various population groups — veterans and veterans, IDPs, people of respectable age, women raising children. This made it possible to develop specific recommendations for improving barrier-free, road safety, availability of shelters, lighting and public space, Kulikiv settlement council emphasized.

The local council strives for the audit results to become the basis for planning the further development of the community and implementing practical changes aimed at increasing security, accessibility and barrier-free. That is why participation in the project for the authorities and the public is a valuable opportunity to make the Kulikiv community safer, more accessible and more comfortable for all its residents.

The material was prepared within the framework of the project "Empowerment of civil society for the stability and restoration of Ukraine ("Impulse")", implemented by the International Renaissance Foundation Міжнародний фонд "Відродження" спільно з МБО "Фонд Східна Європа" Фонд Східна Європа за фінансування Норвегії (Norad) та Швеції (Sida).
