The national forum "Best advocacy practices: from local actions to national influence" gathered representatives of international foundations, authorities, and the public sector from various regions of Ukraine in the capital

The National Forum "Best Advocacy Practices: From Local Actions to National Influence" gathered representatives of international foundations, authorities, and the public sector from various regions of Ukraine in the capital.

During the opening, the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy Kateryna Levchenko and the President of the NGO "La Strada-Ukraine" Maryna Legenka emphasized the importance of strengthening women's participation in the recovery processes, implementing the "Women, Peace, Security" agenda and developing advocacy tools for systemic change.

1325 An important part of the forum was the presentation of the results of local advocacy campaigns of coalitions 1325 from Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Poltava and Cherkasy regions. Their experience once again proved that it is local initiatives that become the basis for policies and decisions that change the lives of women, veterans, military women and families of defenders.

Iryna Kulyk, Deputy Head of the NGO "Association of Democratic Development", presented the results of the advocacy campaign "Inclusion of measures aimed at meeting the needs of family members of veterans and family members of military personnel in the Action Plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 "Women, peace, security" for the period until 2030 in the Chernihiv region". The advocacy campaign was carried out by the Chernihiv Region 1325 Coalition, which is actively working to promote the Women, Peace, Security agenda in the region.

Participants of the forum discussed the challenges and prospects of implementing gender equality in wartime conditions, the role of 1325 coalitions in the reconstruction processes of Ukraine, the importance of partnership between the state and civil society, as well as the importance of advocacy for the promotion of democratic values, European integration changes and the implementation of equality standards at the national and local levels.

The forum became a platform for sharing best practices, strengthening cooperation and forming a common vision of further steps. After all, real changes begin when the voice of communities sounds at the national level.
