"I am the wife of a serviceman and I need knowledge about psychological support for children in order to help my children to be less vulnerable during the war." "I work as an educator and I want to gain knowledge and skills from psychological first aid to children to better work with their students." These were the expectations of the participants in the training on psychological first aid to children, held in the Sosnytska hromada.
The event in the community was held within the framework of the project "Strengthening the psychological stability of residents of communities in the Chernihiv region," embodied by the NGO "Association for Democratic Development" in cooperation with the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Chernihiv region. Crisis psychologists Ekaterina Savelyeva and Anna Chalova shared their professional experience.
More than 20 participants of the training, including IDPs, mastered the skills of psychological first aid to children of all ages in crisis situations, as well as the search for an internal resource for psychological stability in war conditions. It was also about special methods of psychological support for children - like game and fairy tale therapy, breathing exercises.
Participants of the training in Sosnytska hromada expressed gratitude for the training. According to them, confidence in their activities was added, the information was meaningful and voluminous, everything was available, easily perceived and assimilated.
