Three maple avenues have been planted in the Kyinka, Ivanivska, and Kipti communities."

On March 4, in the villages of Kolychivka, Kyinka and Kipti, within the Ivanivska, Kyinska and Kipti communities, the team of the NGO Association for Democratic Development, together with local residents, planted maple avenues. This is part of the project "Collective memory of the war in Chernihiv."

Thanks to joint efforts, 48 red maples were planted (16 trees in each community). About 100 people took part in the events. These were preschoolers, schoolchildren, community youth, pensioners, representatives of local self-government, police and firefighters. Trees will become a symbol of the desire to preserve and convey the memory of the events in the Chernihiv region, which are associated with a full-scale invasion in 2022.

"Common pain, common idea, common cause unites residents and residents of the community. Pleasant aftertaste from the implementation of the initiative. Trees please the eye, maintain a psychological state, inspire further struggle. And what emotions await us when the crimson leaves form the crown? We can only imagine, "‒ said Irina Dubyk, a member of the Council of the NGO" Kiptivska Women's Union. "

These events became possible thanks to the joint initiative of the team from the NGO "Association for Democratic Development" in coalition with the NGO "Women for Development," NGO "Kiptivska Women's Union," NGO "Yustyna," and NGO "Dobro Time" as well as in collaboration with the local authorities of the communities.

"February 28 for the Kyiv community was a difficult day that will be remembered for a lifetime. Then there were many dead. In total, more than 1,200 damaged houses in the community during a full-scale invasion, 68 were completely destroyed. The entire social infrastructure is damaged. All residents of the community remember this time, but it is necessary for this memory to pass years and decades. So that we remember not only the tragic events, but also that together we can change for the better life in the community, the village, "‒ added Andrei Golovach, Kyiv village head.

The maple alleys that grow on our lands will become symbols of solidarity and memory of important historical moments. "It is important for us to preserve the collective memory of the events of February - March 2022 in the Kipti community. We want the residents of the community to be involved in the creation of the memorial object and the alley. This is not only about the cohesion of residents, but also about the ecological living together of collective trauma and memories, "‒ said Natalia Apanasko, assistant project manager.

Subsequently, a memorial object will be located on the alley, a vote on which took place among the residents of the community during February 2024. Now there is a counting of votes and summing up the voting results. This will be announced later.
