"Psychosocial support for vulnerable groups in the communities of Chernihiv region"

The project provides for:

  • conducting an assessment and analysis of mental health needs and psychosocial support in selected communities. Based on the results, the project team, with the support of IOM, will develop a report and recommendations for mental health and psychosocial support programs;

  • conducting artistic group events to help community residents overcome the effects of stress. Group sessions will include discussion of topical psychosocial topics such as adaptation to change, conflict resolution, goal setting, adaptation to new responsibilities, etc., depending on the interest and needs of the groups;

  • conducting individual sessions with psychologists (including individual support and counseling, psychoeducation, etc.);

  • conducting trainings to raise awareness about the integration of psychosocial support and livelihood support, first psychological aid, self-help, etc. for representatives of local authorities, social protection of the population, workers in the field of medicine, education and other specialists who provide services to vulnerable categories of the population of target communities;

  • conducting livelihood-adapted sessions on mental health awareness and psychosocial support. 


Project objectives:

In 5 communities of the Chernihiv region, the team of the Association for Democratic Development NGO with the support of the International Organization for Migration will contribute to expanding access to mental здоровʼя services and psychosocial support for vulnerable groups, which in turn will contribute to building the capacity of the local mental health and psychosocial support sector (PTSDP) and expanding access to PTSDP services among people affected by the conflict in the Chernihiv region.
